Team RST for BAO Reaffirms Support for Oyebanji at End-of-Year Meeting


A political support group loyal to Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, Team RST for BAO, which was formed during the build up to year 2022 Ekiti governorship election has reiterated its unflinching commitment to the governor’s second-term bid.

The group which made up of over 180 members across Ado Ekiti wards made this known during its end-of-the-year meeting, where members were converged to review the performance of the BAO administration and strategise ahead of future political engagements.

Speaking at the gathering, the Convener of the group, Arc. Tope Ogunleye, highlighted what he described as remarkable achievements of Governor Oyebanji since assuming office, noting that his style of governance has effectively weakened opposition activities in the state.

According to him, Governor Oyebanji exceeded public expectations after the election.
“ The performance of the Governor has clearly shown that Mr Governor under-promised during the electioneering campaign, because he has over-delivered on his promises since assuming office. The pillar of his administration, which hinges on good governance, has rendered the opposition impotent in Ekiti State,” Ogunleye said.

Also speaking, a prominent member of the group, Hon. Chief Alowonle Afolabi, commended Ogunleye for his leadership qualities, describing him as a unifying force who has successfully and consistently coordinated and maintained a very large support structure for Governor Oyebanji. He specially applauded the architect on how he built a political group that started with just 62 members in March year 2022 into a membership of over 180.

Another member, Mr Femi Fakorede, eulogised the convener for his consistency and responsiveness to the needs of members of the group, noting that his commitment has helped to sustain the group’s cohesion.

Fakorede prayed for divine strength and wisdom for Ogunleye to continue leading the group effectively as it mobilises support for Governor Oyebanji’s second term.

The end of the year meeting was concluded with the announcement of cash gift to all members of the team and a charge from the Principal, RST for members to brace up and be steadfast towards the Mr Governor second term campaign.
