BAO SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR OYEBANJI ON HISTORIC CONSENSUS VICTORY
The BAO Solidarity Movement (BSM) has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 governorship election — a development the group described as historic and unprecedented in the annals of Nigerian politics.
In a statement signed by its Convener and Director-General, Malam T. S. Salami, the Movement commended the governor’s emergence as the first-ever consensus gubernatorial candidate in Nigeria’s political history, attributing the feat to his visionary leadership, humility, and excellent performance in office.
> “Governor Oyebanji’s emergence is not just a political event; it is a statement of faith by the people in his leadership capacity, character, and developmental achievements. His good governance and human-centered policies have earned him the trust of both party members and the general populace,” the statement read.
The BSM expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Leadership of the APC for ensuring a transparent and inclusive process that allowed democracy to thrive within the party.
The group also praised the Ekiti State APC leadership, under Hon. Olusola Elesin, for organizing what it described as a peaceful, transparent, and hitch-free primary election — the most orderly and credible in the political history of the state.
Furthermore, the Movement commended all delegates, stakeholders, and members of the party for their maturity, unity, and discipline before, during, and after the exercise, noting that such conduct reflects the enduring spirit of harmony within the Ekiti APC.
Reiterating its unwavering support for Governor Oyebanji, the BAO Solidarity Movement urged all supporters to remain steadfast, united, and committed as the state prepares for the 2026 governorship election.
> “The loyalty, resilience, and commitment demonstrated during the primary election should be sustained in the months ahead. Together, we must consolidate on the gains of this administration and ensure continuity of good governance in Ekiti State,” the statement added.
Concluding, the Movement wished Governor Oyebanji greater success in his second term, expressing confidence that it would be “more glorious, impactful, and prosperous than the first.”
