The Executive Chairman of Ikere West LCDA, Hon. Rufus Ige Olorunfemi, today distributed a total of N440,000 in cash to 44 vulnerable individuals across the LCDA.
The breakdown of the distribution is as follows:๐
Distribution Details
✅- Atiba/Aafin Ward: N100,000 was distributed to 10 people, providing financial assistance to those in need within the community.
✅- Okeruku Ward: N110,000 was distributed to 11 people, further demonstrating the Chairman's commitment to supporting the less privileged.
✅- Agbado/Oyo Ward: N100,000 was distributed to 10 people, highlighting the LCDA's efforts to ensure that no one is left behind.
✅- Ugele/Arokun Ward: N130,000 was distributed to 13 people, showcasing the Chairman's dedication to uplifting the most vulnerable members of society.
Chairman's Statement
In his statement, the Chairman expressed his profound gratitude to the Ekiti State government for entrusting him with the leadership of Ikere West LCDA. He also extended his appreciation to the Deputy Governor, Chief Princess Monisade Christianah Afuye, for her unwavering support and guidance. The Chairman emphasized that there is much blessing to help those in need and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Ikere West LCDA.
Upcoming Initiatives
The Chairman outlined several upcoming initiatives aimed at further developing the LCDA and improving the lives of its residents.
These initiatives include:
๐1. *Installation of 40 Solar Lights*: The LCDA plans to install 40 solar lights across the four wards, with 10 lights allocated to each ward. This initiative will enhance security and provide illumination for residents.
๐2. Commissioning of Boreholes: The Chairman announced plans to commission boreholes in each of the four wards, ensuring that residents have access to clean and reliable water.
๐3. Empowerment Programs for Artisans: The LCDA will be empowering artisans across the LCDA by providing them with essential tools and equipment, such as grinding machines, sewing machines, pumping machines for cutting grass(MOAR cutting machine)
, standing fans, and drying equipment for hairdressers.
๐4. Support for Elderly Individuals: The Chairman revealed plans to provide N20,000 each to 20 elderly individuals in the LCDA, enabling them to engage in small petty trades and improve their livelihoods.
๐5. Sale of Cocoa Seedlings: The LCDA will be selling 10,000 cocoa seedlings to farmers at a subsidized rate, aiming to boost the LCDA's internal revenue and support agricultural development.
๐6. Street Naming Project: The Chairman announced the continuation of the street naming project, which will further enhance the LCDA's infrastructure and facilitate navigation within the community.
