Oshodi-Isolo local government was the cynosure of all eyes on Sunday at the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos West awards ceremony tagged the Plaudit as the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof was awarded an outstanding council chairman award. 

In the event which was held at the Oranmiyan Hall of the Lagos Airport Hotel saw  to the presentation of awards to dignitaries who have contributed in one way or the other to the development of youths and their immediate communities.

Of the local government awards, Oshodi-Isolo carted away two award as the vice chairman of the council, Mrs Modupe Badmus-Aregbe went home with an outstanding award.

An elated Badmus-Aregbe who stood for Otunba Oloyede and herself at the event thanked the organisers for recognising their contributions to the development of their local government. 

She said the award would spur her and the council chairman to do more for the youths and residents at large within the local government. More dividends of democracy in terms of infrastructural development projects that will have direct impact on the masses will continue to be embarked upon by their administration, she said.

"We are elated and excited for this award, this is not the first time we are receiving awards, but this comes as a pleasant delight to us as our efforts in empowering youths and ensuring a secured future for them is being appreciated, this will spur us to do more and we will  not relent in our efforts at bring more infrastructural development projects to the door steps of our people," the council boss said.

The council boss encouraged youths to shun acts that will hinder their progress in life saying they should remain focused and committed to their goals.

She said; "I will encourage the youths to remain focused, determined and engage themselves in meaningful endeavours that will guarantee them a secured future. They should shun all social vices that will be detrimental to them and the society at large, they are encouraged to engage in skillful acts that will give them a living tomorrow."
